Shortbio
Professor in the Department of Social Policy at the School of Social Work at the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) in Brazil. She holds a postdoctoral degree in Social Work from PUC-São Paulo and earned her PhD and Master’s degrees in Social Work from the Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (UERJ). She was a visiting researcher at Harvard University’s Hutchins Center for African and African American Research (2022–2023) and the winner of the 2021 Capes Thesis Award, recognized for having the best thesis in Brazil in the field of Social Work. Her research covers far-right movements, public and social policies in Brazil; race, nation, eugenics, racism, and social policy; as well as eugenics and artificial intelligence. A self-taught AI enthusiast, she also coordinates the Sankofa Research Group on Racism, Social Policy, and Transgressions in the Diaspora.
